The 2004 vintage was one of those vintages that was the longest for some time. Following a couple of very dry seasons, the vine, being what it is, produced an abundance of fruit that matured over a longer than usual vintage period. The standouts this year were Cabernet Sauvignon (the best for some years) and Semillon whose fruity mouth filling flavours were outstanding.
Awards continued to flow for our wines and we were extremely pleased to receive many accolades through the various wine magazines. Winestate magazine rated our VineCrest Sparkling Shiraz with 5 Stars adding to the 41/2 star rating for our 1999 and 2001 VineCrest Semillon and our 2002 VineCrest Merlot.
We have just been advised that our 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon (called “A Capital C”) has also receive a 41/2 star rating.
The Late Harvest is back. We do apologize for all of you with a little sweeter palate - that our Late Harvest was sold out and unavailable for a couple of months. We now have it back on range – so once again ENJOY!
A Semillon/Savignon Blanc has also been added to our range. Called “Two Colours White” (recognising the blend of the two white grape varieties) the wine has a beautiful easy drinking slightly herbaceous style.
Whereas we have mainly concentrated on the domestic market it always gives you a little buzz when your wines are sent to Hong Kong, Singapore, South Africa, Europe, Russia etc.
Our Fine Barossa Wine Club continues to grow and introduce special offers and new releases. On joining the wine club you will be offered a special introductory selection of our award winning wine at a very special price. To join just go to our Contact Us page and forward us your details. We look forward to a long association.
For those of you visiting the beautiful Barossa Valley our cellar door which is now open 7 days is easy to find on the main road between Tanunda and Nuriootpa (or refer to the map in the Contact Us section)
As always we hope that you continue to enjoy the “Fine Barossa Wine” that forms part of the VineCrest name. We hope that you will visit us soon and we look forward to personally meeting all of our customers and friends.
